The Methow Valley's favorite season is winter and to celebrate, locals and visitors come together at the Methow Valley Winter Festival, February 17-26. This ten-day festival showcases our favorite winter activities and vibrant arts and cultural community. There are events and activities for every age, skill level and activity!

Schedule of Events

Friday, February 17

• Lost Fingers, presented by Methow Arts 7pm at the Winthrop Barn.

  These irreverent gypsy jazz vagabonds will delight you with their surprisingly smart covers of 80’s classics. Tickets are $18 in advance or $22 at the door.

Saturday, February 18

• Tour of the Methow, a non-competitive ski of the Methow Valley Trails where skiers may choose to ski 20-80k. Skiing starts at 8:15am see the Methow Valley Nordic Club website to register and get more details.
• Snowshoe Softball Tournament at the Winthrop ball field.
• Guided Snowshoe Hikes at Sun Mountain and at North Cascades Basecamp in Mazama starting at 11am.
• Nordic Ski, Ice Skate, Sled or Backcountry Ski
• Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl

Sunday, February 19

• Doggy Dash, a 6-legged ski race for humans and their best friend
• Dog and Cat Photo Contest, sponsored by Winthrop Gallery through February 28th
• Nordic Ski, Ice Skate, Sled or Backcountry Ski
• Guided Snowshoe Hikes at Sun Mountain and at North Cascades Basecamp in Mazama starting at 11am.
• Snowshoe Softball Tournament at the Winthrop ball field.
• Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl

Monday, February 20- Friday 24

• Nordic Ski, Ice Skate, Sled or Backcountry Ski
• Youth Nordic Ski Camp, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, February 21-23 presented by the Methow Valley Nordic Team.

• Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl
• Women's Ski and Yoga Retreat, Friday to Sunday February 24-26 presented by Winthrop Fitness. Now in it's 10 year this is a fantastic female retreat! 
• Chamber Music Concert, Friday, February 24 at 7pm. String quintet featuring the music of Brahms, Beethoven and Mozart. 

Saturday February 25

• Try Biathlon at the Mazama Biathlon Course. Don't miss this opportunity to try the Olympic sport of Biathlon! Instruction by the Methow Valley Biathlon Team from 11am-1pm for skiers age 9 and older. $20 suggested donation benefits the Biathlon Team.
