Methow Valley Nordic Festival
Featuring the Methow Valley Pursuit

A three-day weekend dedicated to celebrating nordic skiing in the Methow Valley.  Bring your family and friends out for a day of free skiing and festivities on Friday, and then join in a race, fun relay team event or ski tour on Saturday and/or Sunday.  For the avid skier, join the 2-day challenge of our signature American Marathon Series race, the Methow Valley Pursuit.

Friday, January 23rd:
  • Backyard Ski Day - All Day - Free trail access, free rentals, free lessons and every reason in the world to bring your family and frineds out on the trail to try cross country skiing for the first time!  
  • Join MVSTA staff for s'mores at the Town Trailhead, 10am-3pm.
  • Classic race late registration and packet pick-up, MVSTA office, 4:00-6:00pm.
Saturday, January 24th:
  • 15K Classic race at Chickadee Trailhead, 9:00am
  • Fatbike demo and group ride, 10:00am (Methow Cycle and Sport)
  • Guided snowshoe and natural history tour, 11:00am Sun Mountain Lodge and North Cascades Basecamp
  • Happy Hour (beer on tap) and pizza by the slice, location TBA, 3:00-6:00pm.
  • Sunday skate race/tour registration and packet pick-up, location TBA, 3:00-6:00pm.
Sunday, January 25th: 
  • 7:30-8:00am packet pick-up at Mazama Community Center 
  • 8:30am bus departure to race start, leaves Mazama at 8:30 sharp
  • 9:20am "Pursuit" interval start for skate racers
  • 10:00am self seeded "mass start" for relay and 30K skate tour
  • Post-race party and awards ceremony at Mazama Community Center, 12:00-3:00

Aid Station for Sunday’s ~30k Freestyle Events

Aid stations will be provided at Brown's Farm and Wolf Ridge Resort (approximately every 10k)

Racer Transportation
Bus shuttle for Sunday freestyle events, leaves Mazama parking lot at 8:30am sharp. 

NOTE: You may want a ski bag for transporting your skis/poles under the bus.  No skis allowed inside bus passenger space. Bring a bag with warm clothes for post-race.
