The Methow Valley’s skiing, scenery, and trails are world-class – and our extensive trail system provides for 120 miles of skiing in peaceful, freshly groomed and uncrowded conditions. The Nordic ski trail system is divided into three areas - all connected by the Methow Community Trail, 30K of excellent skiing that includes a suspension bridge crossing the Methow River, trailheads, and lodges along the way. The Methow Community Trail links the towns of Winthrop and Mazama. The trailheads are located in Winthrop on the south side of town, at the Mazama Junction near the Mazama Store, and at various points along the route. From the Community Trail you can:
- Connect to the Sun Mountain trails via Power's Plunge and the Winthrop Trail.
- Connection to the Rendezvous Trails via Goat Creek.
- Access Wilson Ranch and Early Winters Creek.
- Experience unique skiing terrain including the 275 ft. Foster-Tawlks Suspension Bridge over the Methow River.
- Try “Lodge-to-Lodge” skiing.

The Northwest's oldest and largest cross-country ski resort, Sun Mountain offers scenic views, pro staff for individual or group lessons for all levels of skate skiing or classic track techniques, plus rental equipment and retail gear. An ideal destination for families or groups with mixed abilities. Youngsters will enjoy short rolling loops, while competitive skiers go for the long climbs – and there’s a warming hut at the base to reconvene at.

A great area for beginners learning to cross-country ski. Machine groomed tracks over flat and rolling farm, along the Methow River and through woodlands offer scenic day tours. Experience lodge-to-lodge skiing via the Mazama Country Inn, North Cascades Lodge, Mazama Ranch House, and the Freestone Inn at Wilson Ranch.

For the seasoned skier, you can’t beat the snow, sun and scenery of the Rendezvous trails. Enjoy views of the North Cascades and the Methow Valley from 4000 foot high trailside overlooks. The ambitious skier can ski 30km from Cub Creek to Mazama.
Try a day-long or overnight trip using the hut-to-hut system. The European tradition of mountain hut skiing is affordable, simple and safe. Perfect for a groups of friends and families. Rendezvous Huts

Methow Valley Sport Trails Association (MVSTA) sponsors ski races, clinics, and fun events for the whole family. MVSTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting environmentally sound non-motorized recreation year-around on and near the trails of the Methow Valley.
