The cross country skiing in this part of Washington is characterized by dry, powder snow. Blue skies frame rugged winter peaks. Nights are so clear the stars come right down to say hello.

The Methow Valley Sports Trails Association hosts a variety of cross county ski races open to youth, Junior National, beginner, citizen and expert skiers. Many Methow Valley organizations host cross-country ski camps and offers day instruction and ski rentals.

Other winter fun includes ice skating, snowshoeing, sledding, sleigh rides, hot-tub soaking under the stars, shopping, fine dining and local wine tasting, gallery hopping or simply sitting by a cozy fire with a hot chocolate and a good book.
