Enjoy a Washington State Olympic experience– Methow Valley Style! Experience the Olympic activities of Nordic skiing, biathlon, alpine skiing and snowboarding - all while being surrounded by the Winter Olympic Spirit. Gather with fellow enthusiasts to watch televised coverage at the following locations from February 12th-28th:

- Doggy Dash, a 6-legged ski race for humans and their best friend, all with an Olympic theme, registration starts at 8:00am, costume judging and racing starts at 8:45am, Town Trailhead.
- Try Biathlon at the Town Trailhead. Come try the Olympic sport of Biathlon. Instruction by the Methow Valley Biathlon Team from 12-2pm for skiers age 9 and older. Free.
- Broadcast of the Winter Olympic Games all day at the Winthrop Ice Rink.
- Guided Snowshoe Hikes at Sun Mountain and in Mazama starting at 11am.
- Winthrop Gallery Reception, open to the public 11:00am-2:00pm, celebrating winter recreation activities.
- Snowshoe Softball Tournament at the Winthrop ball field.
- Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl
- TorchLight Ski, "Love this Valley" torchlight ski presented by the Methow Conservancy. Skiing starts from the town trailhead out the community trail 2k along the Methow River. Enjoy chocolates, treats and a gorgeous evening ski starting at dusk until 8pm.
- Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride, "Love this Valley" sleigh rides presented by the Methow Conservancy. Sleigh rides are free and start from the Mazama corral and run from dusk to 8pm.
Monday, February 15- Friday 19
- Special Lodging Packages all week
- Free Beginner Cross Country Ski Lessons in Mazama, Tues (16th) and Thurs (18th) from 3:30-4:00pm. Meet at the Mazama Corral Trailhead stairs with gear, ready for fun (gear available for rent at Mazama Ski Shop). Must be 6 or older. Methow Valley Ski School.
- Kids Cross Country Ski Camp, Feb. 16-18 from 2-5pm for ages 6-12. $100 Presented by the Methow Valley Nordic Team
- Guided Snowshoe Hikes Wednesday, February 17th at Sun Mountain and in Mazama starting at 11am.
- Try Biathlon at the Town Trailhead Wednesday February 17th. Come try the Olympic sport of Biathlon. Instructed by the Methow Valley Biathlon Team from 1-3pm for skiers age 9 and older. Free.
- Winthrop Gallery Show, A celebration of Methow Valley Winter activities. Show dates run Feb. 11- March 8th. Gallery, 996-3925.
- Taped Rebroadcast of the Men's and Women's 1.5km Sprint at the Twisp River Pub with special commentary by former Olympic nordic skiers. Watch local favorite, Torin Koos, compete on Wednesday February 17th at 6pm. Food, beer and wine available for purchase.
Friday, February 19
- Conservation & Trails Ski Tour Join the Methow Conservancy for a guided ski tour on the MVSTA trails around Mazama. Learn about the unique pairing of protected private land and the ski trails. Naturalist Steve Bondi will lead the group from 1-3pm. MVSTA day trail pass required but the tour is free. No registration required. Meet at North Cascade Basecamp.
- Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl
Saturday February 20
- Winthrop Winter Cowboy Races, rope cattle on skis at the Corral Parking lot trailhead in Mazama. Bring your skis and cowboy hat! Free and open to all abilities of skiing and roping! Registration, 12:30, races start at 1:00pm.
- Try Biathlon at the Mazama Biathlon Course. Come try the Olympic sport of Biathlon. Instruction by the Methow Valley Biathlon Team from 10am-12pm for skiers age 9 and older. Free.
- Guided Snowshoe Hikes at Sun Mountain and in Mazama starting at 11am.

Winter Ecology Field Class, conducted on skis or snowshoes from 10am - 2pm. Learn winter plant identification skills, follow animal tracks, observe the behavior of the winter birds, and talk about the remarkable adaptations that plants and animals make to survive winter. Presented by the Methow Conservancy. Call 996-2870 to register (required). $15/person.
- Alpine ski or snowboard at Loup Loup Ski Bowl
- Broadcast of the Winter Olympic Games all day at the Winthrop Ice Rink.
- Wanderlust Circus, a family friendly acrobatic performance 7pm at the Winthrop Barn presented by Methow Arts
