Whether
you are trying snowshoeing for the first time,
or you are interested in building your skills,
take advantage of the trails made possible by
the Methow Valley Sport Trails Association.
There's something for every
ability; a gentle upper-Valley signed path that
meanders through cedar forest and beaver chewed
cottonwoods along Early Winter's Creek (beaver
loop), or higher-elevation, scenic outings at
Sun Mountain (Rader Creek).
MVSTA snowshoe trail passes ($3) are required.
People who have purchased a pass for the ski trails,
however, can use that pass on snowshoe trails
as well and don’t need to buy another pass.
Pick up a Methow Valley Winter Trails map today
and have fun! Snowshoes can be rented at Winthrop
Mountain Sports, Sun Mountain and Jack's Hut.

under the starry sky at 5pm. At 11:00 a.m., folks
are invited to participate in the Nature of Winter
Tour Series, a free guided snowshoe tour to favorite
haunts around the area to explore the nature of
life in the cold. Topics include animal tracking,
winter foraging, travel and survival in winter
and adaptation of plants and animals. Take advantage
of the most sparkly time of the year and attend
