Overwhelmed by where to start on our endless trail
system? It’s hard to go wrong, but here are a few local favorites
that you shouldn’t
miss. Print out a map below, stick it in your pocket and glide!
Easy
Beaver Pond Loop, Sun Mountain 6K
Cassal Loop, Mazama 10K
More Difficult
10K Loop, Mazama 10K
Town Trailhead Loop, Winthrop 15K
For a longer, one-way ski, try skiing down-valley
from Mazama to the Town Trailhead along the Methow Community Trail. It’s
mostly flat with a 5K hilly section in the middle. There are two warming
huts along the way,
and it crosses the Methow River on a suspension bridge. 30K
Most Difficult
Cub Creek Loop, Rendezvous 18K
For a challenging all-day ski, try the one-way trek from Cub Creek to Mazama
via the Rendezvous Trail. Climb 2000 feet to Rendezvous Pass, and pause at
a warming hut for lunch before the descent, which is broken up by mellow flats
and spectacular views. 30K
