Presented by Methow Cycle and Sport

The most unique event in the winter series: bike, cross country ski, and run while enjoying the sunshine and snow of the Methow Valley. Open to iron competitors or 2-3 person teams.

Start Time and Location
Start 9:00 a.m. at the Winthrop Public Library (formerly the Fortest Service Visitor's Center).


Distances and Race Course Descriptions

Bike – 12K, Ski – 20K, Run – 8K
  • Bike Leg: 12K
    Start at the Winthrop Public Library and ride the West Chewuch Rd to the Cub Creek Rd to the bike-ski transition at the Cub Creek Trailhead. Mountain bikes with 1.5” tires are required.

  • Ski Leg: 20K
    Start at the Cub Creek Trailhead and ski Cougar Bait and Cow Creek trails to Rendezvous Pass and then down Gunn Ranch trail to the ski-run transition. The trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing.


  • Run Leg: 8K
    For the final leg, racers run Gunn Ranch Road to Lower Rendezvous Road to the West Chewuch Road to the finish at the Winthrop Ballfield. The course begins with a moderate climb for .6K, followed by a gradual rolling descent on dirt roads for 6K. The final 1.2K descent is on pavement.

Registration and Bib Pick-Up
Online registration is now closed. You can register in person at the locations and times listed below. Pre-registered racer pick up bibs and packets at the same locations.

  • Friday, February 6, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the MVSTA office
  • Saturday, Febuary 7, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. at the Winthrop Barn
  • $10.00 late fee after February 4

Refreshments and Award Ceremony
Baked goods, fruit, water and hot drinks will be served in the Winthrop Barn after the race. The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m.

  • Iron competitors: Each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
  • Team competitors: Age groups 90 and under, 91-145, 146-185, and 186 and over
